Boss Mama CEO Story: A Sip of Elegance

April 14, 2026

I was scrolling through social media one day when I stumbled upon NefertiTea and was thrilled to see they were opening so close to me! What a treat to have such a unique experience practically in my own backyard. Then I discovered the twist: it’s a concierge-style High Tea. No brick-and-mortar at all! They actually come to you and set everything up. How cool is that?

Fast forward, I recently attended an event celebrating International Women’s Day, supporting a local non-profit. Imagine my excitement when I realized NefertiTea was the vendor! I couldn’t wait to meet Christie and experience her magic firsthand. Throughout the event, I sipped warm tea, nibbled on delicious treats, and enjoyed the loveliest company. When I finally met Christie at the end, she was every bit as delightful as her tea setup.

Curious, I looked into the meaning of Neferti. It comes from Nefertiti, the revolutionary Egyptian queen known for her power and timeless beauty. How perfect that Christie named her business after her—a reflection of elegance, classic style, and timeless charm. Truly a queen-worthy experience!

It gets even better… not only does Christie crush it as an entrepreneur, she’s also a Doctor—yes, you read that right, a Doctor! Christie was super modest in her story below, so I just have to shine a little extra spotlight here: this woman is an absolute rockstar.

Doctor by day, entrepreneur by night, and Mom 24/7. She’s living proof that you can literally have it all. Christie is the ultimate Boss Mama CEO, thriving in every role and making it look effortless (even when we know it’s anything but!).

I can’t wait for you to learn more about her story below.

And don’t forget to check her out on social media and give her a follow!

We love a good origin story, but first, give us your short + sweet intro!

NefertiTea is a luxury high tea experience that brings elevated, beautifully curated gatherings to your home or event space. We specialize in full-service tea parties with refined tablescapes, thoughtfully crafted menus, and seamless hosting so you can relax and enjoy your guests.

Every boss mama has a ‘day one.’ What was yours?

NefertiTea was founded in November 2025 out of a love for gathering, hospitality, and creating beautiful, meaningful experiences. Inspired by my Egyptian roots and a desire to bring a sense of quiet luxury to modern hosting, I set out to design high tea experiences that feel both elegant and deeply personal.

Which came first—the business or the babies? Tell us how your family + business journeys intersected.

After I started my family.

We know it’s a wild ride—tell us how you’ve balanced building your dream biz while raising your crew. The good, the tough, the real.

Building my business while growing my family has been both deeply fulfilling and incredibly stretching. There is something so special about creating something of my own while also raising my children, because both journeys require so much heart, patience, and faith.

The highs have been seeing an idea come to life, watching people connect around something beautiful I created, and realizing that I can still nurture parts of myself outside of motherhood and medicine.

At the same time, it has not been easy. There are constant pulls on my time, energy, and attention, and I have had to learn how to build slowly, give myself grace, and accept that I cannot do everything at once. Some seasons feel inspiring and full of momentum, and others feel like survival mode.

But in many ways, building NefertiTea alongside my family has made the business more meaningful. It has taught me to be intentional, resourceful, and grounded in why I started in the first place: to create beauty, warmth, and memorable experiences in the middle of a very full life.

What’s one obstacle you’ve overcome?

A challenge has been stepping into the confidence to put NefertiTea out into the world. Moving from an idea to actually offering services, pricing my work appropriately, and owning the value of what I create required a lot of personal growth. Over time, I’ve learned to trust my vision and recognize that what I’m building is meaningful—and that confidence has made all the difference.

Tell us your superpower—what’s your product, service, or special offering?

Quiet luxury for the queen (s) in your life.

What’s the magic that sets you apart?

What sets NefertiTea apart is the intention behind every detail. It’s not just a tea party; it’s a fully curated, elevated experience designed to feel intimate, beautiful, and effortless for the host. From the layered tablescapes to the balanced menus and on-site service, everything is thoughtfully designed so guests can be fully present and enjoy the moment.

NefertiTea also carries a unique sense of identity, inspired by my Egyptian roots and a love for quiet luxury. Each event blends timeless elegance with a modern, personal touch making every gathering feel not only refined, but meaningful and memorable.

Spill the tea — any big milestones, press shoutouts, or launches on the horizon?

NefertiTea is still in its early chapters, which makes this season especially exciting. One of the biggest milestones has been successfully launching and hosting multiple events so soon after starting in November 2025, with returning clients and word-of-mouth referrals already building momentum. That kind of organic growth has been incredibly meaningful and affirming.

Give us a Day in the Life of being both Mom and CEO!

My days are a blend of motherhood, medicine, and entrepreneurship, and no two ever look exactly the same.

Mornings are focused on my kids and getting everyone ready, followed by a full day in clinic caring for patients and managing the demands of medicine.

Evenings shift back to family time, and once things settle, I step into my role as CEO. planning events, responding to clients, and building NefertiTea.

Event days are long and hands-on, but incredibly rewarding to see everything come together. I’ve learned that balance isn’t about doing everything at once, but being fully present in each role as it comes.

What’s the single best piece of advice or favorite tool you’d share with other mamas building their businesses?

Give yourself permission to build slowly and imperfectly. As a mom, your time and energy are already spoken for in so many ways, and trying to do everything at once only leads to burnout.

Focus on consistency over perfection—small, intentional steps add up much more than waiting for the “perfect” moment. The biggest shift for me has been trusting that growth can be steady and still be successful.

What’s been your biggest challenge juggling motherhood and running a business?

The hardest part has been the constant tension between wanting to be fully present at home and fully committed to growing something of my own. There’s always a pull in both directions, and at times it can feel like you’re not giving enough to either. I’ve had to learn to let go of guilt and accept that balance doesn’t mean equal—it means being intentional with where I am in that moment. Some days the business needs more of me, and other days my family does, and learning to navigate that without feeling like I’m falling short has been one of the biggest challenges.

What’s your approach to balancing business and family? We love the real, unfiltered stories!

Honestly, I’ve learned that balance isn’t about splitting time evenly…it’s about being fully present where I am. Some days my family gets more of me, and other days my business does, and I’ve had to let go of the guilt around that. I prioritize what matters most in that moment and accept that everything won’t always get equal attention. It’s less about perfection and more about intention.

Looking back, what’s something you wish you had known before starting your business?

I wish I had known that you don’t need to have everything figured out before you start. I spent time overthinking details that I could have learned along the way. Growth really happens in the doing, not in the planning. Starting before you feel ready is actually part of the process.

What tool, resource, or habit has completely changed the game for you?

Time blocking and protecting small pockets of focused time has been a game changer. As a mom, I don’t have endless hours, so learning how to use even 30–60 minutes intentionally has made a huge difference. It’s less about how much time you have and more about how you use it.

What mindset shifts have helped you keep going during hard seasons?

Letting go of perfection and embracing progress has been everything. I’ve also had to remind myself that slow growth is still growth. Not every season will feel productive or exciting, but that doesn’t mean you’re not moving forward. Staying grounded in my “why” has helped me push through those quieter or harder moments.

What words of encouragement would you give a Mom tempted to give up on her business dream?

You’re allowed to build something for yourself, even if it takes time. Your dream doesn’t have to happen all at once to be valid or meaningful. Keep going in small, consistent steps…those add up more than you think. And most importantly, don’t underestimate what you’re capable of just because your path looks different from someone else’s.

Christie is the embodiment of a true Boss Mama CEO gracefully balancing life as a physician, mother, and founder of NefertiTea, all while creating space for beauty and connection in the midst of it all. By day, she’s caring for patients; by night, she’s curating elevated, intimate high tea experiences rooted in her Egyptian heritage and love for quiet luxury.

Through every season, whether it’s building her business in small, intentional pockets of time or embracing the chaos and joy of motherhood, she leads with purpose, patience, and heart. Christie isn’t just hosting tea parties; she’s creating meaningful moments, proving that even in a full life, there’s always room to build something extraordinary.
